VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA
Thrilling matches as teams fight for playoff contention in the VCT EMEA
The VCT EMEA stage delivered a night of electrifying action as teams clashed in crucial battles for playoff positioning. With some squads aiming to cement their status as top contenders and others desperately seeking consistency, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. Team Heretics, sticking to their tested roster, faced off against a reshaped Apeks, while FUT Esports took on Movistar KOI in a classic duel between rising momentum and unfulfilled potential.
Team Heretics vs Apeks — MiniBoo leads the comeback
Heretics came into the match with the same lineup that impressed at Kick-Off, displaying confidence and cohesion. Apeks, on the other hand, made a bold move by benching Hype and bringing in Korean talent Peter «Governor» No in a bid to recalibrate their performance.
Map 1: Ascent — Apeks dominate early
Apeks kicked off the series with a powerful showing on Ascent, showcasing sharp team coordination and efficient execution. AvovA stole the spotlight with 19 kills and a staggering 275 ACS, anchoring key rounds and shutting down Heretics’ attempts to respond. Despite MiniBoo’s efforts to swing momentum back, Heretics looked disjointed on both sides of the map.
Result: Team Heretics 5 – 13 Apeks
Map 2: Split — Heretics fire back
Team Heretics returned the blow on Split, flipping the narrative with a disciplined and aggressive performance. Their defensive setup held firm, and they capitalized on Apeks’ missteps. MiniBoo was the driving force with 23 kills and 275 ACS, constantly disrupting Apeks’ rhythm and opening the door for Heretics to equalize the series.
Result: Team Heretics 13 – 8 Apeks
Map 3: Icebox — Closing with authority
With everything on the line, Heretics came out swinging on Icebox. Their map control and tempo were too much for Apeks to handle. Once again, MiniBoo delivered a masterclass with 20 eliminations and a 300 ACS. Apeks couldn’t replicate their earlier form and fell apart under Heretics’ relentless pressure.
Result: Team Heretics 13 – 6 Apeks
Final Verdict: Team Heretics showed impressive adaptability, shaking off the early setback and dominating the final two maps. Apeks had a promising start but couldn’t maintain the pace, falling short as Heretics closed the series with authority.
FUT Esports vs Movistar KOI — Xeus leads a stunning comeback
This match-up featured a team on the rise versus one still searching for answers. FUT aimed to build on their Kick-Off momentum, while Movistar KOI sought validation and consistency on the main stage.
Map 1: Pearl — FUT flawless
FUT came out swinging on Pearl, completely outclassing KOI with surgical execution and tight defensive setups. Xeus was untouchable, racking up 24 kills and a blistering 361 ACS. KOI never found their footing, and Sheydos—playing Chamber for the first time—struggled to adapt. Only Filu put up a fight, but it wasn’t nearly enough.
Result: FUT Esports 13 – 5 Movistar KOI
Map 2: Lotus — A comeback for the ages
KOI stormed into Lotus with an impressive 9-3 half, thanks to structured defense and strong individual plays. But the tides turned after the side swap. FUT’s defensive improvements were immediate, and once again, Xeus led the charge with 38 kills and 338 ACS. KOI’s double sentinel setup faltered on attack, and despite pushing the map into overtime, FUT closed it out convincingly in two quick rounds.
Result: FUT Esports 14 – 12 Movistar KOI
Final Verdict: FUT Esports showcased grit and composure. After steamrolling the first map, they mounted a sensational comeback in the second, proving they can handle pressure with poise. KOI had flashes of brilliance but ultimately lacked the finishing touch in clutch rounds.
