VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1 – Week 3 Day 2 Recap
The second day of Week 3 in the VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 gave us two very different stories: a complete stomp from Team Liquid over FUT Esports and a well-fought but decisive win from Team Heretics against Vitality. Here’s how each match unfolded, map by map.
Team Liquid vs FUT Esports
🗺️ Map 1 – Lotus (FUT’s pick)
Lotus was a one-sided bloodbath. Team Liquid came in with surgical precision, starting on defense and taking an overwhelming 11-1 lead in the first half. FUT had no answer, and only managed to secure a single round throughout the map. TL closed the match quickly with two more attacking rounds for a crushing 13-1 scoreline.
The star of the show was kamo, who posted jaw-dropping stats: 471 ACS, 23-7 K/D, +16 differential, and 7 first kills, controlling the pace from the very first moments. Both Keiko and nAts supported with impactful play, each surpassing 220 ACS and contributing significantly to site entries and post-plants.
On the other side, FUT completely collapsed. All five players ended with negative stats, with yetujey especially struggling, finishing 1-13. TL dominated first bloods, and their sharp defensive reads and flawless mechanics left FUT without any real response.
📊 Final score: Team Liquid 13 – 1 FUT Esports
🗺️ Map 2 – Split (Liquid’s pick)
Split was a much more balanced affair, with multiple momentum shifts. FUT started strong on defense, winning pistols and the bonus round. However, Liquid adjusted quickly and brought it to 6-6 by halftime.
Once on attack, TL regained composure and took control with a 7-3 half. Once again, kamo stood out with 245 ACS and 20 kills, maintaining impact despite 5 early deaths. nAts delivered surgical precision in the early duels, going 16-5 with 4 clean first kills. Serial also impressed with an 82% KAST, showing consistency throughout.
For FUT, xeus had a decent game on Chamber with 20 kills and 193 ACS, and yetujey bounced back with +1 differential. However, inconsistency from qRaxs and MrFaliN (-7 and -5 respectively) cost them dearly. TL’s superior tactical reads and execution in critical rounds secured them the sweep.
📊 Final score: Team Liquid 13 – 9 FUT Esports
Team Vitality vs Team Heretics
🗺️ Map 1 – Haven (Vitality’s pick)
Despite picking Haven, Vitality never looked in full control. The first half was tight, with both teams trading short streaks. Heretics responded well after a timeout, tying the half and eventually pushing through to 13-10.
WoOt led the Spanish squad with 271 ACS and 22 kills, showing consistency and clutch ability. MiniBoo supported with aggressive play and crucial trades. For Vitality, Sayf was the standout with 18 kills and solid early duels, but the rest of the squad couldn’t match the intensity. CyvOph had a rough map with a 10-20 K/D and just 39% KAST. Heretics made the most of their opponent’s mistakes and excelled in retakes and first bloods.
📊 Final score: Team Vitality 10 – 13 Team Heretics
🗺️ Map 2 – Icebox (Heretics’ pick)
Icebox told a different story. Heretics came in confident and dictated the pace early, leading 7-5 at halftime. Vitality looked flat and unable to find rhythm. Derke was virtually invisible, and Kick had one of his worst performances, going 4-16.
MiniBoo was absolutely on fire: 301 ACS, 22-7 K/D, 89% KAST, while WoOt continued his streak with 290 ACS and 20 kills. Together, they combined for +7 in first kills, completely overwhelming Vitality’s defense.
The second half was a breeze for Heretics, who won 6 of the last 7 rounds to shut down any comeback hopes. Clean, decisive, and full of momentum, Heretics closed the map in dominant fashion.
📊 Final score: Team Vitality 6 – 13 Team Heretics
