The thrilling 2025 Winter Season of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) has concluded its regular season, marking the beginning of the highly anticipated playoffs. After three weeks filled with action, surprising strategies, and unforgettable plays, six teams have secured their spot in the playoffs, led by an impressive Fnatic.
The Undisputed Leader: Fnatic
The British team Fnatic left no doubt about their dominance in this regular season. With a record of 8 wins and just one loss, they achieved the best performance among the ten participating teams. Their consistency and coordination position them as the favorites to claim the title in this elimination phase. From Week 1 to the end of the regular season, Fnatic demonstrated their ability to adapt and execute strategies flawlessly, closing with a decisive victory against SK Gaming.
Strong Contenders: Karmine Corp, G2 Esports, and Movistar KOI
Karmine Corp, G2 Esports, and Movistar KOI ended tied with a 6-3 record. Each team showed their strengths throughout the regular season. KC stood out for their map control and key decision-making, while G2, with their characteristic aggressive style, achieved impactful victories. Meanwhile, Movistar KOI remained competitive thanks to their well-structured team play. These three teams could be the most dangerous challengers for Fnatic in the playoffs.
Vitality and GIANTX Complete the List of Qualifiers
With a 5-4 record, Vitality and GIANTX also secured their playoff spots. Despite some ups and downs, both teams proved they have what it takes to compete in this new phase. Vitality closed the regular season with positive momentum, while GIANTX stood out for their ability to surprise their opponents.
Eliminated Teams: BDS, Heretics, SK Gaming, and Rogue
Unfortunately, the teams in the middle and bottom of the standings failed to make the cut for the playoffs. Team BDS and Heretics showed flashes of quality, but their inconsistency cost them dearly. On the other hand, SK Gaming and Rogue ended with a 1-8 record, making it clear they will need significant adjustments for future competitions.
