Interviewee: Snaker (Isurus Estral)
Media Outlet: Sons of KS
Q: How has the experience been competing in the new leagues and facing teams from Brazil and North America?»
Snaker:The experience was very good for me. I think I was able to improve in many aspects of my gameplay, and in terms of macro, scrimming against North American teams helped us a lot to evolve.»
The Fearless Draft and Its Impact on the Competitive Scene
Q: The Fearless Draft is a new feature in this year’s competitive scene. What do you think about it? Can we expect Isurus Estral to come up with some interesting picks for the upcoming splits?
Snaker: Honestly, I think the Fearless Draft is the best thing that has happened to competitive play. It’s really entertaining to see teams like T1 or BLG playing anything in a fifth game. Clearly, I feel like in a Bo3 there are still too many champions available, but in a Bo5, we’re going to see a lot more ‘toys’ being used.
Isurus Estral’s Dominance in LTA South
Q: Isurus Estral dominated LTA South and had a strong performance against NA teams. What do you think were the key factors that brought the team to this level?
Snaker: I think the best thing about this team is that it only thinks about winning, so everything in the day-to-day becomes easier.
Back in Brazil: Adaptation and Differences with LLA
Q: After playing in Brazil, you’re now competing there again. How has the experience been compared to LLA? Do you like the atmosphere, the fans, and the feeling of playing on stage in the South?
Snaker: At first, I felt a bit weird. Spending so much time in Mexico made it a bit difficult to adapt to this country and also to being in an office instead of a gaming house. Now that I’ve adapted, I like my daily routine much more, and playing on stage is, I’d say, much more competitive than in LLA.
Facing Team Liquid and Areas for Improvement
Q: After your match against Team Liquid, what aspects do you think need improvement? How do you compare the level of these teams to those in LLA?
Snaker: Honestly, in terms of mechanics, I think LTA South players are at the same level. But in terms of macro play, I feel like we are way behind. I think if Isurus improves communication to an acceptable level, we could beat any LTA North team. As for LLA, it was simply a difference in mechanics; if you were the best mechanically, you had a big advantage over your opponent, and it wasn’t really a macro game issue.
Expectations for the Upcoming Splits
Q: What can we expect from Isurus Estral and from Snaker in the upcoming splits?
Snaker: What you can expect is simply to aim for the ‘beautiful game,’ as they say in Brazil. We need to stop making macro and communication mistakes that make us look beatable. As for me, I want to win every bot lane matchup and be able to show my 100%. I think I showed something against TL, but I can play much better for my team.
